What would a day on the slopes be without taking advantage of the chance to eat out? Impossible to imagine, right? After all of those skiing adventures and fresh mountain air, stopping in at a mountain hut or country inn is essentially the icing on the cake.
Rustic huts with a unique charm all their own and mountain restaurants with sunny terraces all await you right next to the ski slopes - the ideal opportunity to bask in the sunshine and recharge your batteries for the rest of the day's activities!
Aside from beverages that will warm you up or refresh you, there's never a shortage of things for our winter sports fans to eat either - delicious, traditional Pinzgau specialties, regional foods and irresistible pastries are certain to whet the appetite of each and every skier and snowboarder. Affordable kids' meals are also sure to reenergize the young ski stars of tomorrow.
Treat yourself to a timeout from winter sports with a refreshment break enjoyed at this rustic hut, accompanied by magnificent panoramic views of the Watzmann and Grossglockner. The big sun-terrace invites you to unwind and enjoy, sipping on a cup of hot tea or a glass of something cooler. You can reach Alpengasthaus Glocknerblick right from the pistes, either on your skis or snowboard. Also, easy to get to even if you are a beginning skier.
Visit the Eisbär, right next to the Schaufelberg run (piste No. 33). Once at the bar, you will be greeted by a high-spirited après-ski atmosphere. Guests in search of pure rest & relaxation can unwind on the big sun-terrace, put up their feet and take in the glorious scenery.
All skiers, big and small, need a break every now and then. The Stangerbauer is located right next to the Schaufelberg run (piste No. 33) and awaits you with a wide menu selection.
Your hosts focus on using their own products as well as others from the immediate region. Whether home-baked cake or a filet steak from a cow raised on their own farm, the diverse menu caters to your every wish.
Come see for yourself!
A popular gathering spot for all fans of the slopes. The Rattensperger family treats you to culinary morsels featuring products from their own farm, such as hearty knuckle of veal and pork, delicious spare ribs as well as original Pinzgau Blatt‘ln.
Typical for a hut such as this, they also offer a typical Pinzgau Brettljause (wooden board topped with a selection of sausage, cheese and schnapps), along with various other homemade products, of course. Enjoy the magnificent views out across the rooftops of Kaprun, recharging your batteries for the rest of your day of skiing.
All lovers of fine spirits will really appreciate the schnapps produced in their own distillery. Since 1995, the Unteraigen has produced many different award-winning distillates such as an apple cuvee, gentian, raspberry, red currant, rowanberry, Williams pear and plum. MAISI

Back in the valley, the Maisi Alm offers everything that’s certain to get a winter sports fan’s pulse racing in pure anticipation: schnitzel, steak and different pasta dishes, along with desserts that include Kaiserschmarrn-style pancakes and cake.
Even our little ski aces aren’t neglected in the slightest either. For them, special kids’ dishes were created, sure to hit the spot and meet their expectations for something delicious to eat. If you still have energy left over after a strenuous day on the piste, you will discover a wonderful “playground” at the neighboring family amusement park.
You actually reach this ranch on skis rather than horseback! Located at 1,545 m above sea level. Daily beginning at 9 a.m., your host Heli treats guests to culinary highlights including steak, burgers and sandwiches prepared on a lava-rock grill, chicken and pork knuckle made on a spit, as well as classic Wiener Schnitzel.
You can enjoy all of these delectable treats out on the spacious sun-terrace, from where you will be able to gaze across the entire Zell valley basin, including the mountain world ranging from the Steinernes Meer to the Hohe Tauern.
The absolute highlight of the day is Heli's Après-Ski, which begins at 3 p.m.
MAISI TIP: The petting zoo for children is also open in winter!

The Sauloch is something special and unique. Before tackling the challenging piste back to the valley, we recommend getting an energy boost right here. And where better than the spacious sun-terrace, where you will also be treated to imposing panoramas of the Pinzgau mountains and Zeller See.
The hut – with its rustic atmosphere – offers an inexpensive “dish of the day” as well as a selection of fresh pastries.
